Circet's teams have provided indoor multi-operator coverage of the highest skyscraper in Lyon, owned by Caisse d'Épargne Rhône-Alpes, for SFR in France.

Located in the heart of Part Dieu - Lyon's business district - the Incity Tower is not just the tallest tower block in Lyon (200 meters and 39 floors of offices), it is also the first HEQ (high quality environmental standard) high-rise building in a city center in France. Designed for the well-being of users, it prioritizes sound and thermal comfort, air quality and natural light, and offers services unequalled in Lyon.

To provide everyone working in the tower with quality mobile communications, its owner Caisse d'Épargne Rhône-Alpes decided to roll out a private mobile network infrastructure open to all service providers.

Technical Expertise

Circet was contacted by SFR in April 2015, when Caisse d'Épargne issued its call for tenders. Our team in Lyon and SFR chose and approved the technology and engineering scheme for 3G/4G coverage shared with the other service providers. After costing and budgeting the project, SFR tendered its bid to its customer Caisse d'Épargne. The technical and financial talks between Circet, SFR and Caisse d'Épargne lasted eight months. Our efforts and energy paid off: SFR was awarded the contract in November 2015.

The works started on February 1, 2016 and lasted three months. The system was activated at the end of April and the site delivers speeds in line with forecasts.

Do Not Disturb

Working with SFR teams, we rolled out the tower’s mobile network in just three months – while the staff of Caisse d'Épargne and SNCF had already moved into the tower… As the office workers had already taken possession, the works had to be carried out swiftly, meticulously and silently.

We responded to SFR's requirements vis-à-vis its customer with a high degree of adaptability and patience. It is undoubtedly this adaptability and controlled costing that enabled Circet to secure the deal.”

Circet’s Site Manager constantly shared a tight yet flexible schedule with the tower's manager. And we often had to yield to the demands of the end customer and its office staff.”

Knock-on Effect

The quality of our work and the daily supervision were key benefits to Caisse d'Épargne. No wonder Orange subsequently awarded the work to convert its premises to the same teams.

We decided to partner with Circet in this project for their strong expertise in indoor coverage. Circet was very responsive and available throughout the project, from the costing phase to the works themselves. Everything was done to execute the project on schedule.
